Major update v1.3 - New UI, new items and balancing
I want to start by expressing my deepest gratitude to the entire community and players for their ongoing support. Developing this game has been an incredible journey, and it's your feedback and comments on Discord that have made it possible for me to keep developing, adding new ideas, fixing bugs, and improving the game.
I am working solo on this project, and I highly appreciate every piece of advice and report you share. If anyone wishes to contribute or report something, you can easily do so by accessing Discord from the main menu. I'm already hard at work on the next version, aiming to fix more issues and add even more content to enhance your gaming experience.

UI Changes
Inventory and User Interface Enhancements
- Added better inventory management features including colors, sorted objects by type, and icons for an improved user experience.
- Enhanced online messages with a broader vocabulary of words and phrases to improve communication.
- Added sound effects for potion interactions to enhance audio feedback.
- Introduced sprites for thrown javelins to improve visual feedback.
Accessibility and Navigation Improvements
- Implemented a Tab key feature for auto-targeting visible monsters when throwing/aiming, improving gameplay accessibility.
- Increased projectile movement speed for a more responsive gameplay experience.
- Added a Discord logo on the main menu with a direct link to the Coop Catacomb channel, facilitating community engagement.
- Added a link to the changelog when clicking on the game version in the main menu for easier access to updates.
Gameplay Additions
New Features and Mechanics
- Introduced new item types: Pendants, with 11 different types, enriching gameplay variety.
- Added two new types of traps: poison and sound, introducing new challenges and strategies.
Combat and Interaction Enhancements
- Enhanced melee and projectile combat dynamics by allowing manual aiming rather than fixed 8-directional throws.
- Added the ability for players and monsters to be poisoned, introducing a new layer of strategy to combat.
- Monsters that can steal, paralyze, or rust player equipment will have a +20% hit probability, adding to the combat challenge.
- Introduced mechanics where throwing objects onto a trap activates and reveals it, adding depth to dungeon interactions.
Inventory and Equipment Changes
- Increased inventory slots to 20, allowing for more item management.
- Players starts with 8 wooden javelins in their inventory, enhancing the initial gameplay experience.
Environmental and AI Adjustments
- Myconid monster will now spawn paralyzing spores after death, adding to environmental hazards.
- Some monsters, specifically heavier ones, will now trigger traps, adding a layer of AI interaction with the environment.
Balancing Fixes
Monster and Combat Adjustments
- Nerfed 'Flaming Orb' monster and adjusted the difficulty of various monsters by increasing or decreasing their damage output, such as Purple Worms and Dragons.
- Enhanced the slime cloning ability and modified the fireball shooting frequency of fire type monsters for balanced gameplay.
Equipment and Potion Balancing
- Adjusted the effects and probabilities of equipment and potions, including a rework of the Potion of Life and adjustments to the effectiveness of the Holy Shield and Glass Shield.
- Reworked the Ring of Trapfinder to offer a more significant chance to reveal traps, adding strategic depth to equipment use.
Gameplay Mechanics Adjustments
- Increased the number of traps and monsters per dungeon to enhance challenge and complexity.
- Modified the regeneration rates and effects for both players and monsters, aiming for a balanced and fair gameplay experience.
Bug Fixes
Gameplay and Interaction Corrections
- Corrected issues related to item interactions, such as dropping several items not putting them into walls and activating traps by throwing objects.
- Fixed a bug where being poisoned did not update the player's strength status in the informational message.
UI and Visual Fixes
- Addressed typos and improved visual feedback for certain actions, such as the correction from 'lance' to 'javelin'.
Audio and Effects Fixes
- Resolved issues where certain sound effects would not play correctly or would replay under specific conditions, improving the audio experience.
